Montana SB440 revises election laws to mandate public reporting of election results and establish reporting requirements.
Montana SB440 requires county election administrators to prepare a spreadsheet detailing election results, including voter and ballot counts by type. This spreadsheet must be posted on county election websites and submitted to the secretary of state before election certification. The secretary of state then prepares a comprehensive reconciliation report, which is distributed to the legislature and posted on the statewide election website.
