Montana SB417 revises health insurance laws to require coverage for injectable medicines to improve glucose or weight loss for adults diagnosed with prediabetes, gestational diabetes, or obesity. The bill mandates that insurance contracts or plans provide coverage for these medicines if prescribed by a licensed physician. It also requires continued treatment to be medically necessary and participation in a lifestyle management plan. The bill does not apply to individuals covered by a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plan.
