Failed·5/23/25
Introduced Text

Restores the right for injured workers to choose their own doctor for workers' compensation claims.

Montana SB295 amends the state's workers' compensation laws to restore the right of injured workers to choose their own doctor for treatment. Prior to the insurer's designation of a treating physician, a worker can select a health care provider from those listed with managed care organizations. The insurer may direct the worker to use a managed care organization or a preferred provider organization for physician designation. After insurer direction, the treating physician can be changed with worker and insurer consent. Refusal to consent is subject to mediation.
