SB26

Montana SB26 allows legislators to receive mileage reimbursement at IRS rates for using their own vehicles for official duties.

Montana SB26 amends state law to allow legislators to collect mileage reimbursement at the rate set by the United States Internal Revenue Service for the current year when using their own motor vehicles for official duties. This change applies to the first 1,000 miles and reduces the rate by three cents per mile for additional miles within a calendar month. The bill also extends this reimbursement rate to jurors, witnesses, county agents, and other individuals entitled to mileage reimbursement from public funds.
