Montana SB229 amends the temporary investigative authority of the Department of Public Health and Human Services in child abuse and neglect cases. It prohibits the removal of a child under temporary investigative authority and requires the department to petition the court for immediate protection and emergency protective services. The temporary investigative authority cannot exceed 90 days and must be served as provided in 41-3-422.
