Montana SB152 seeks to amend the state constitution to allow up to 25 percent of the coal severance tax trust fund to be invested in private corporate capital stock. This bill also revises investment rules for public funds, public retirement system assets, and state compensation insurance fund assets. The amendment requires a two-thirds majority vote in the legislature and, if passed, will be submitted to voters in the November 2026 election.
