SB148

Montana SB148 allows landowners to designate hunting licenses to persons with disabilities.

Montana SB148 amends state hunting laws to allow landowners who provide free public elk hunting on their property to designate their hunting licenses to immediate family members, employees, or persons with developmental or physical disabilities. The bill also modifies the criteria for issuing landowner preference licenses and permits for deer and antelope, and establishes a preference pool for nonresident landowners. The changes are effective March 1, 2026.
