HB920

Provide property tax exemption for senior care facilities and housing

Complete·5/13/25

Montana HB920 provides property tax exemptions for senior care facilities and housing.

Montana HB920 revises property taxes for senior care and housing, offering a temporary tax exemption for senior care and housing development projects. A tax-exempt senior care and housing sponsor can petition a local government for preapproval of a property tax exemption. If the local government approves the petition, the sponsor can apply for a property tax exemption. The exemption applies to all property owned by the sponsor within the senior care and housing development project, including new construction, for up to 5 years or until the development is final and operational.
