Introduced Text

Montana HB916 revises lodging tax allocation to fund property tax relief and other state programs.

Montana HB916 revises the allocation of lodging tax revenue to provide property tax assistance for primary residences. Starting January 1, 2025, a portion of the revenue from accommodations and campgrounds sales will be deposited in the state property tax assistance account. The bill also allocates funds to the Montana heritage center, historic preservation grants, and other state programs. If Senate Bill No. 90 is not passed, this act is void. The changes are effective July 1, 2025, and apply to sales occurring on or after that date.
