Montana HB733 prohibits enforcement of certain post-November 8, 1889 federal firearms laws by state and local officials.
Montana HB733 prohibits state and local officials from enforcing federal firearms laws enacted after November 8, 1889, if they are more restrictive than Montana's own laws. This includes federal laws, rules, executive orders, and regulations. The bill also codifies the new section as part of Title 45, chapter 8, part 3, and ensures that if any part of the act is found invalid, the rest remains in effect. It applies retroactively to federal laws enacted after the bill's passage.
