Montana HB716 amends the qualifications for individuals eligible for election or appointment to a county water and sewer board of directors. To qualify, a person must be a registered voter, at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, and a resident of the district or an owner of real property in the district who is a resident of Montana. Nonvoting ex officio members can reside outside the district and do not need to own property. Municipal appointees must have knowledge of the municipal water system. The act is effective upon passage and approval.
