Montana HB657 allows cities and towns to review public water and sewer systems if they employ or contract with a licensed professional engineer.

Montana HB657 permits municipalities to review and approve the design and construction of public water and sewer systems, as well as extensions or alterations of existing systems, provided they employ or contract with a licensed professional engineer and establish review programs. The bill mandates that these reviews comply with the Montana Environmental Policy Act, real property takings requirements, and nondegradation and nonsignificance determinations.
