Introduced·2/14/25
Introduced Text

Montana HB519 repeals the nonresident landowner preference for big game combo licenses.

Montana HB519 repeals the nonresident landowner preference for big game combo licenses. The bill eliminates the preference point system for nonresidents purchasing Class B-10 and Class B-11 licenses, which previously allowed nonresidents to buy preference points for a higher chance of obtaining a license. The repeal also removes the requirement for nonresidents to purchase preference points to apply for these licenses. The changes will take effect on March 1, 2026.
