Montana HB477 phases out polystyrene foam containers in food businesses, with exceptions.

Montana HB477 aims to phase out polystyrene foam containers in food businesses. Beginning January 1, 2028, restaurants and food establishments cannot serve food or beverages using polystyrene foam containers. From January 1, 2029, these businesses cannot serve or package prepared food in polystyrene foam containers or provide them for use with food. Starting January 1, 2030, food packagers cannot package bakery products or other prepared food in polystyrene foam containers.
