Montana HB401 prohibits the sale of lab-grown meat in Montana.
Montana HB401 makes it unlawful to manufacture, sell, hold, or distribute lab-grown meat in Montana. This includes products derived from muscle cells, fat cells, connective tissue, blood, or other meat components produced via cell culture. The bill subjects violators to misdemeanor charges, potential imprisonment, and business penalties. It also mandates an immediate stop sale order for products found in violation. The bill defines "cell-cultured edible product" and amends existing sections to enforce the prohibition.
