Montana HB334 revises disaster and emergency laws by increasing the amount statutorily appropriated for emergencies and expanding the uses of the appropriation for disaster and emergency services. The bill raises the maximum amount the governor can expend from the general fund to $22 million in any biennium for disaster or emergency declarations. It also allows the Department of Military Affairs to use up to $3 million annually for personal services related to disaster response and planning. The bill is effective July 1, 2025.
