Montana HB19 revises tax increment financing laws to mandate a public hearing before pledging tax increment to bonds that extend the termination of a district using tax increment financing beyond 15 years. The local government must provide notice of the public hearing to the county and school district in which the urban renewal area or targeted economic development district is located. This act applies to pledges of tax increment to bond payments on or after the effective date of the act.
