Provide grant funding for senior citizen centers

Vetoed·5/13/25

Montana HB182 establishes a grant program for senior citizen centers to fund infrastructure projects.

Montana HB182 creates a senior citizen center infrastructure account within the state special revenue fund to provide grants to nonprofit corporations for capital construction, maintenance, repairs, and equipment purchases. The Department of Commerce administers the account and grants, with up to $5 million appropriated for the biennium beginning July 1, 2025. Nonprofit corporations can apply for grants, subject to matching funds and project management plans. The act limits funding per county and per project, with a maximum of $350,000 per county and $250,000 per project.
