Montana HB128 prohibits public and private employers from terminating the employment of volunteer emergency service providers under certain conditions. Employers may not terminate an employee for serving as a volunteer emergency services provider or joining a volunteer emergency unit or organization. Employees must notify their employer in writing within 30 days of joining a volunteer emergency unit or organization or within 30 days of the bill's effective date if they were already serving as a volunteer.
