Missouri SJR120 proposes an amendment to the state constitution to prevent wealth redistribution through state tax appropriations.
Missouri SJR120, known as the Stop Socialism Act, seeks to amend the state constitution to prohibit the redistribution of wealth through state tax appropriations. It defines county revenue contribution as the sum of state income and sales taxes remitted by county residents. The act mandates that no county should receive a smaller proportion of total state general revenue appropriations than its revenue contribution. If a county receives less, the difference must be refunded to its residents.
