Missouri SJR114 proposes constitutional amendments to change how judges are selected and their terms.

Missouri SJR114 proposes to amend the state constitution to change the selection process and terms for judges of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and circuit courts. The amendment would allow the governor to appoint judges of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals with the advice and consent of the Missouri Senate. For circuit and associate circuit judges, the governor would appoint from a list of three nominees provided by a nonpartisan judicial commission.
