Creates provisions relating to cost-sharing under health benefit plans

Introduced·1/7/26

Missouri SB970 amends health benefit plans to include certain medication costs in out-of-pocket maximums and cost-sharing requirements.

Missouri SB970 amends Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri to include costs for medications without generic substitutes in the calculation of an enrollee's out-of-pocket maximum and cost-sharing requirements. Health carriers and pharmacy benefits managers must account for these costs, and cannot vary out-of-pocket maximums or cost-sharing based on the availability of cost-sharing assistance programs.
