Missouri SB1779 modifies cost of living adjustments for members of the Public School Retirement System and the Public Education Employee Retirement System. The bill specifies that if the cost of living increases by two percent or more, the retirement allowances for retired members or beneficiaries will be increased by two percent. If the system's investments fail to earn at least two percent returns in excess of the investment return rate, the retired member or beneficiary may elect to receive either survivorship benefits or a payment of the accumulated contributions.
