SB1519

Establishes the Respiratory Care Interstate Compact

Introduced·1/7/26
Introduced Text

Establishes the Respiratory Care Interstate Compact to facilitate the practice of respiratory therapy across states.

The Respiratory Care Interstate Compact aims to improve public access to respiratory therapy services by allowing licensed respiratory therapists to practice in other member states. Member states must enact the compact, license respiratory therapists, and participate in the commission's data system. The commission will oversee compliance and dispute resolution among member states. Active military members and their spouses can also benefit from the compact. The compact preserves state regulatory authority and aims to enhance public health and safety through streamlined interstate practice.
