Modifies special election procedures for filling vacancies in the Missouri General Assembly.
The bill repeals and replaces Section 21.110 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, detailing the process for special elections to fill vacancies in the General Assembly. If the governor receives a resignation, notice of vacancy, or confirmation of a member's death during a recess, they must promptly issue a writ of election. This election must occur at least fifty days but no more than six months after the governor receives the resignation or notice of vacancy.
