Missouri SB1392 repeals and replaces the current definition of first-degree murder in Missouri law. The revised statute now includes knowingly causing the death of another person after deliberation or knowingly delivering or distributing fentanyl or carfentanil, or any derivative or combination thereof, resulting in death. The offense remains a class A felony. For individuals 18 years or older, the punishment is either death or life imprisonment without eligibility for probation, parole, or release except by act of the governor.
