SB1379

Establishes provisions for the release of criminal justice data to bona fide researchers.

The bill establishes provisions for the release of criminal justice data to bona fide researchers. It defines terms such as "criminal justice agency," "criminal justice data," and "bona fide researcher." A criminal justice agency must share all relevant data and records with bona fide researchers, ensuring that personally identifiable information is not disclosed in any resulting reports or publications. The attorney general is required to issue guidance to assist agencies in complying with these requirements.
