Missouri SB1360, the Civil Liability for Employers Hiring Ex-Offenders Act, provides liability protections for employers, general contractors, premises owners, and third parties against lawsuits for hiring employees or independent contractors convicted of certain offenses. It prohibits using the conviction as evidence in negligent hiring cases unless the employer knew or was grossly negligent in not knowing about the conviction and the offense was directly related to the employee's work.
