Missouri SB1334 prohibits school personnel from discussing gender identity or sexual relationships with students.
Missouri SB1334, known as the Vulnerable Child Compassion and Protection Act, restricts school personnel from encouraging students to adopt a gender identity or sexual relationship. It defines "school official" broadly to include teachers, counselors, and other contracted personnel. If a student expresses discomfort about their biological sex, school officials must notify the student's parents within 48 hours. School officials are also prohibited from using names or pronouns that differ from a student's biological sex without parental permission.
