SB1316

Missouri SB1316 prohibits school districts and charter schools from requiring DEI training or promoting DEI ideologies.

Missouri SB1316 prohibits public school districts and charter schools from requiring students or employees to agree with DEI ideologies or answer questions about them. Schools cannot offer incentives for DEI-related activities if they are not equally available for non-DEI activities. DEI is defined as education or training on antiracism, implicit bias, or differential treatment based on race, gender, religion, ethnicity, or sexual preference. Parents can sue schools for violations that harm their children, and the attorney general or local prosecutors can also bring civil actions.
