Missouri SB1310 authorizes the medical malpractice joint underwriting association to suspend operations.
Missouri SB1310 repeals and replaces Section 383.155, RSMo, to allow the creation of a medical malpractice joint underwriting association. The association can resume operations if medical malpractice insurance is not reasonably available in the voluntary market. The association's board of directors can suspend operations if they determine that medical malpractice insurance is reasonably available. During suspension, the association cannot collect dues or fees from its members unless authorized by the director.
