The bill modifies penalties for assaulting law enforcement animals, increasing the severity based on the injury and death of the animal. It classifies the offense as a Class E felony if the animal is not injured, a Class D felony if the animal is seriously injured, and a Class C felony if the assault results in the animal's death. The bill repeals the existing section and enacts a new section named "Max's Law.
