SB1215

Missouri SB1215 establishes criteria for reducing certain criminal sentences, including life without parole or sentences of thirty years or more.

Missouri SB1215 creates provisions for reducing certain criminal sentences. It allows the sentencing court to reduce a sentence of life without eligibility for probation or parole, or a sentence of thirty years or greater, to a sentence of life with eligibility for probation or parole if specific conditions are met. These conditions include the offender serving at least thirty years in the department of corrections and demonstrating model behavior in the correctional facility. The bill also mandates that the offender must have a safe and secure home plan for implementation upon release.
