SB1210

Missouri SB1210 establishes a battery recycling program for rechargeable lithium batteries.

Missouri SB1210 creates a battery recycling program for rechargeable lithium batteries. Manufacturers and recyclers must join a representative organization to develop a plan for the program, which must be approved by the Department of Natural Resources. The plan includes details on collection sites, service providers, funding, and public outreach. After implementation, manufacturers and recyclers must participate in the program, and batteries must be disposed of only at approved collection sites. The department enforces compliance and can take legal action against violators.
