Protects student journalists' freedom of press in school-sponsored media.
The "Cronkite New Voices Act" establishes protections for student journalists' freedom of press in school-sponsored media. It ensures that student journalists can determine content without censorship, except in cases involving libel, privacy invasion, illegal activities, incitement to unlawful acts, or disruption of school operations. School districts must adopt policies respecting student press freedom, and student-media advisors cannot be disciplined for protecting students' rights.
