SB1120

Missouri SB1120 modifies settlement demand rules for liability insurers.

Missouri SB1120 repeals and replaces Section 537.058 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri to modify provisions for time-limited settlement demands to liability insurers. The bill defines terms such as "extracontractual damages," "settlement demand," and "tort-feasor." It mandates that settlement demands must be in writing, sent by certified mail, and remain open for at least ninety days. The demand must include specific details such as the amount requested, the date and location of the loss, and a description of the claims.
