SB1047

Enacts provisions relating to insurance coverage for cancer treatment

Introduced·1/7/26
Introduced Text

Missouri SB1047 prohibits cost-sharing for advanced stage cancer treatment under health benefit plans.

Missouri SB1047, known as "The Missouri Advanced Stage Cancer Cost Burden Cap," amends Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri by adding a new section. This provision mandates that health benefit plans cannot impose any cost-sharing requirements, such as deductibles, coinsurance, co-payments, or maximum out-of-pocket expenses, specifically for the treatment of advanced stage cancer. The only exception is the deductible that applies to other health care services under the plan.
