SB1023

Modifies provisions relating to funding for certain libraries

Chamber Passed·4/2/26

Missouri SB1023 modifies funding provisions for certain public library districts.

Missouri SB1023 modifies provisions relating to funding for certain libraries by allowing specific public library districts to impose a sales tax. The tax can be authorized by a majority vote of the board of directors and must be approved by a majority of qualified voters in the district. The tax is in addition to all other taxes allowed by law and can only become effective if approved by voters. The bill repeals and replaces section 182.802, RSMo, to reflect these changes.
