Missouri HJR176 proposes a constitutional amendment to alter the distribution of revenues from the management of state natural resources. The amendment would repeal Section 43(c) of Article IV of the Missouri Constitution and replace it with two new sections. Section 43(c) would authorize the continuation of certain sales and use taxes for ten years after voter approval, with the option to terminate these taxes if voters reject the measure. Section 55 would require any department managing natural resources to remit 25% of its revenue to the county where the resources are located or removed.
