Missouri HJR134 proposes a constitutional amendment to dissolve the highways and transportation commission and transfer its authority to the department of transportation. The amendment repeals existing sections of the Missouri Constitution and replaces them with new provisions that grant the department of transportation authority over state highways and transportation systems. The department of transportation will have the power to plan, locate, establish, acquire, construct, maintain, control, and operate public transportation facilities.
