Missouri HJR126 proposes a constitutional amendment to reduce property tax assessments by fifty percent for senior citizens and disabled persons. The amendment would apply to residential property owned by individuals aged 65 or older, or those permanently disabled, with a federal taxable income of $50,000 or less, or $75,000 or less if married filing jointly. The amendment would be submitted to voters for adoption or rejection at the next general election or a special election called by the governor.
