Expands powers of state fire marshal's peace officers during arson investigations and exigent circumstances.
The bill repeals and replaces Section 320.230 of RSMo, expanding the powers of the state fire marshal's peace officers. These officers can now conduct investigations and hearings into fires, explosions, and related occurrences, especially those involving arson or immediate threats to safety. They must notify local law enforcement and have arrest powers for offenses related to their investigations. This change aims to enhance the state fire marshal's ability to respond effectively to dangerous situations.
