Modifies provisions for the county budget officer in certain first class counties

Introduced·2/26/26
Introduced Text

Missouri HB3453 modifies the definition of budget officer for certain first class counties.

Missouri HB3453 repeals and replaces Section 50.530 of RSMo, altering the definition of "budget officer" for first class counties. In counties with a population of less than one hundred thousand, the county auditor serves as the chief budget officer. For other first class counties, the budget officer is appointed by the county commission. The bill also defines "accounting officer" as the county auditor in first and second class counties and the county clerk in third and fourth class counties.
