Missouri HB3437 amends existing law to prohibit gas, electrical, water, and sewer corporations from selling, assigning, leasing, transferring, mortgaging, or otherwise disposing of their franchises, works, or systems unless the Public Service Commission determines the transaction is in the public interest. The bill also restricts the acquisition of more than 10% of the capital stock of these corporations by other entities without commission consent. The commission must assess the impact of such transactions on local tax revenues and notify affected county clerks.
