It mandates that health carriers or health benefit plans notify enrollees at least thirty days prior to any deletions in the prescription drug formulary, excluding generic substitutions, that affect the enrollees. Additionally, it prohibits pharmacy benefits managers from requiring enrollees who have been taking a particular prescription drug for over a year to switch to a different drug to maintain coverage under their health benefit plan.
