HB3387

Modifies provisions for appointing family court commissioners in the 7th judicial circuit.

This bill modifies the appointment process for family court commissioners in the 7th judicial circuit. It allows the circuit and associate circuit judges to appoint commissioners whose compensation is paid by the state. The bill specifies that the number of commissioners cannot exceed those already in office as of January 1, 2027. It also mandates that these commissioners must meet the same qualifications as circuit judges and receive compensation and retirement benefits equivalent to those of an associate circuit judge.
