HB3243

Establishes provisions for child placement if a parent or legal guardian faces federal enforcement action.

The bill establishes provisions for the placement of a child if a parent or legal guardian has been subject to a federal enforcement action. It mandates that state agencies or educational institutions notify the Missouri Children's Division within 24 hours if they become aware of such an action. The Division must then prioritize placement with a fit and willing relative or known caregiver, consider the child's immediate needs, and maintain the child's educational stability. The Division may also provide information on guardianship options and coordinate with legal service providers.
