HB3196

Missouri HB3196 establishes a program for providing paid leave for parents to attend certain school activities.

Missouri HB3196 amends Chapter 285 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri to add a new section, 285.690, which mandates employers to provide employees with a minimum of two hours of paid leave per calendar month for attending school-related activities concerning their child. This leave must be paid at the employee's regular rate and cannot be counted against sick leave, vacation leave, or any other accrued leave. Employers may request verification from the school or childcare provider that the employee attended the claimed activity.
