Establishes the "Missouri Automatic License Plate Reader Regulation Act"

Introduced·2/4/26
Introduced Text

Establishes regulations for the use of automatic license plate readers by Missouri law enforcement agencies.

The Missouri Automatic License Plate Reader Regulation Act sets rules for the use of automatic license plate readers (ALPR) by law enforcement agencies. It prohibits unauthorized access to ALPR data and its use for personal, political, or commercial purposes. ALPR systems cannot be used for general surveillance, immigration enforcement, civil code enforcement, or monitoring lawful activities. Law enforcement agencies must record and report on ALPR data usage, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol will compile annual summaries.
