Introduced Text

Missouri HB3152 mandates unique NPIs for off-campus outpatient departments to ensure proper billing and reimbursement.

Missouri HB3152 requires off-campus outpatient departments of facilities to obtain and use a unique National Provider Identifier (NPI) for billing health care services. This applies to all facilities licensed in Missouri and health carriers operating within the state. The bill prohibits facilities from submitting claims or holding enrollees liable for services unless billed using the unique NPI. Health carriers are also barred from reimbursing claims not billed in accordance with this requirement.
